Oranga Tamariki - Ministry for Children
The Ministry for Children supports children and young people in New Zealand whose wellbeing is at significant risk of harm. It also works with young people who may have offended, or are likely to offend.

To ensure that all tamariki are in loving whanau and communities where oranga tamariki can be realised.
OUR CORE SERVICES
- Prevention and early intervention to keep children and young people safe
- Intervention services that work intensively with families and whanau with the aim of keeping children safe in their own homes.
- Care support so that our caregivers can provide stable homes and loving care for children and young people who can't safely stay with their own families or whanau.
- Youth justice to help young people accept responsibility for their actions and support them so they don't reoffend.
- Transition into adulthood support as young people find their feet in the world
