Otago Regional Council

Otago Regional Council is responsible for managing Otago's land, air and water resources on behalf of the community.

We also contract passenger transport services, play a role in transport planning, work to reduce the risk of flooding, and lead the planning for and response to natural disasters to help keep people and properties safe.

As well as looking after the environment, we take into account the people of Otago - their economic, cultural and social needs.

If you observe an instance of pollution to water, air, or land in Otago, use the Pollution Hotline to report it. Your call will be dealt with in complete confidence.

Report incidents as soon as possible after you see them. Timely reporting and evidence helps us to take action. Otago is a big region, and we depend on the public to let us know when pollution occurs. If you can, take some photographs and email them with your report to compliance@orc.govt.nz and your details will remain confidential.
